Yesterday there was a strong storm system that came through. First with clouds, then a dry line, winds, buckets of rain, and for some in our area, there were also tornadoes and hail and great destruction. You may have heard all about it. Over a dozen tornadoes, if you didn’t here is a video of what was in our area.
Just as it started to rain and the tornado sirens were going off south of us, I began to take a couple of pictures at the beginning of the storm of a cloudy and warm day.
The trees are magnificent so high above the houses, aren’t they? Can you can see the clouds starting to build up?
The cloudy day made the spring colors of our yard so deep and vibrantly green.
Another picture of what looks like a lush park style backyard with a putting green to enjoy at other times.
Now you can see the clouds building up even more. We were certainly more protected than other areas which experienced massive damage. Later we saw the damage on TV and it was non-stop coverage here. Live film as the tornadoes were forming and then destroying. Amazing videos. Thank God, no one was killed.
A dear friend said, her heart breaks for those who had such damage to deal with above what they normally have to deal with in their lives. Can you even imagine how hard it would be to have to deal with the cleanup and perhaps the lost of everything you count as dear to you? Prayers are definitely needed.
After the storm passed, I heard a different kind of bird in the trees above. This big bird was drying out his feathers. You could tell he was soaking wet and resting for a spell.
Beautiful, isn’t he? An Egret? Not at all sure. He rested for a while and then headed for the Trinity River about a mile away.
After the storms had passed, there was such a beautiful fragrance filling the air all around. Several friends told me they noticed it in the air all around their homes too. It was certainly a gift from God after the tornado storm clouds passed by in our neck of the woods in Texas.
May natures fragrances remind us all of His power and mercy. Thank You, dear Lord. We are so thankful for your protections and provisions. In Jesus’ Name.

UPDATE: PLEASE PRAY FOR MY BROTHER. HE WAS JUST TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL ON FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 2012. THANK YOU.
Some times there are circumstances and events that even with all our skills and abilities we find we can’t create a viable solution of any kind.
At every turn we find one obstacle after another. Doors shut as if nailed permanently.
We made lists, emailed, called, searched, and google, all to no avail. Not one thing worked out.
Every thing was impossible, improbable, and immovable. We find there is not one more way to turn, one other place to go, not one more door to knock on, or another phone number to call. Every answer is no.
For those of you who know me personally, you know I have a younger brother in a nursing home, although most of you have never seen him. For those of you who don’t know me-this is my younger brother. He has MS, was a burn victim, and is paralysed from the neck down except for the limited use in his left arm and hand. Praise God for that ability.
He is imprisoned in a body that doesn’t work with a mind that does although many times he is confused. He is in California with no one who cares about him in the entire state or in any state bordering, except for medical staff. Every conversation for the last few years has begun with, What do you think about me moving back to Texas?
For years he has been waiting for phone calls and those rare visits from loved ones until recently when he began receiving visits from an elderly Missionary, thanks to a dear Pastor and his wife who knew someone in the area who might be willing to visit. Their weekly visits have been encouraging to my brother and others in the nursing home. Thank God for people like these precious souls who will visit such place where many are so lonely. They offer hope and encouragement for these souls, reminding them of the love of Jesus and telling them about Him if they don’t already know.
On a recent visit we hoped to find a way for my brother to come to Texas, but it seemed to be fruitless as I mentioned before, when suddenly, it was completely possible and with in hours all arrangements were made and every single thing that stood in the way was removed. Praise God, prayers were answered. It was certainly and completely all God.
It reminds me of what a sweet dear soul likes to say-
God is Good.
When?
All the time.
Don’t you love how she asks the questions and answers it too?
Lord willing, my dear brother will be leaving California on a long train ride to Texas with a nephew he hardly knows to the place He’s longed for and wanted to see for so long. He’s been on a thirty year journey, on harrowing paths and destructive roads only to finally be coming home to a place He knew as a young person. This isn’t the end of the journey for him. Even though he coming to Texas for the rest of his physical life, it’s still only a stop-over. Praise God, his permanent residence is still to come on the other side of glory.
Until then-
Prayerfully, we’ll have more days to worship, spend together, and play dominoes.
Perhaps relationships will be restored and both love and mercy will cover multitudes of sins.
A lonely soul will be comforted and content during his last days.
A mother’s broken heart will be healed.
No matter what happens now and in the future, we’ll always be able to look back and with thanksgiving prayerfully say, It’s All God and it’s all about Jesus.

I always thought I was a forgiving person.
So you can imagine my surprise when I felt the Holy Spirit’s conviction telling me, there are those I need to forgive. Especially if I want my relationship with the Lord to be deepened in love and if I don’t want my walk with Him to be hindered in any way. (Matthew 5:43-48)
When the Holy Spirit began to convict me, He brought to mind names of people in the distant past and even today. How did I know I hadn’t forgiven them? I whinced or had that feeling of discomfort when I thought of them. Is there any one person, who’s name makes you feel the same way?
I thought I had forgiven or maybe I was indifferent to them, but the opposite of love is not indifference, it’s hate.
I began to think and ask myself…
What am I doing?
How can I ever forgive them?
Who should I forgive?
What if that person is…
a parent,
a spouse,
a brother or sister,
a friend,
a church,
a neighbor?
yourself?
What if they …
lied,
stole,
hurt you physically or emotionally,
abused you or someone you loved,
killed someone you loved?
What if the life you knew was wreaked because of something someone did?
The Lord knows I tend to want to forgive those whom I deem forgiveable, and I have found areas where I thought it was impossible to forgive. Do you have areas like these too?
Many years ago, I met Candy Lightner, the founder of (MADD) Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. Her daughter was killed by a repeat drunk driver. I thought she was so brave. I don’t know how I would have reacted if one of my beloved children had been killed by such a violent careless act.
A couple of years ago, I met John Walsh, the host of “America’s Most Wanted” on an airplane flying from Fresno to Dallas. He was my seat partner and we spent nearly two hours talking about many things, including the lost of his son, Adam. He was murdered in an horrifically evil act many years ago. One thing I remember is how we spoke of the blessing of more children for him and his wife. That day, I felt so naive with what he knew from first hand experience and how I thought.
I just read a wonderful book of faith and hope about Todd and Lisa Beamer entitled, “Let’s Roll, Ordinary People, Exraordinary Courage” written by Lisa Beamer with Ken Abraham. I don’t know if Candy Lightner or John Walsh and his family leaned on our Lord in faith, but Lisa Beamer spoke of her faith in the Lord Jesus. She leaned on the Lord completely to help her deal with the tragedy of 9-11.
Many foundations and charitable groups have formed from just these three life changing tragedies. Life has continued whether any of them forgave or not. My life has continued and now the Holy Spirit is showing me, I have not forgiven some people.
Left to my own way, I most likely would never forgive some of them. I like being right. I want justice. In fact, I tend to want to demand it.
In my spiritual walk, with Jesus as my Leader and Guide, I can choose to forgive. I can forgive and even pray for them. (Ephesians 4:32) The Bible asked me to pray for others who have been my enemies, not to change them but that the Lord might bless them. (1 Peter 3:8-9) Whenever I think of asking the Lord to bless them, I always ask that He would give them the greatest gift and that would be Himself. (Romans 5:8)
Impossible. Sure sounds like it. In our world we can barely stand to forgive others when we don’t believe they deserve our forgiveness. In His, it is the only answer to peace. (Matthew 6:14-15)
Thank you for stopping by. I will be unavailable for the next week. Please enjoy this reprint of last years post and don’t forget to come along side us and pray for those in need.
It was 80 degrees! A warm and lovely day with breezes to keep the air moving. What a welcome relief from the winter!
Now is this the end of winter, maybe not, but we aren’t going to think about that right now!
The earth is never,
quite satisfied with water,
always needing more.
The sun dances off the river waves.
The currents moving in a meandering and steady speed.
Water rushes suddenly over a spill way.
The ducks swim without a care in the world.
A bend in the road, which way shall we go?
Civilization, so close, and yet seemingly so far away!
The beautiful oaks,
so strong and gracefully bend,
as the winds blow through.
Hope you can feel the warm breezes of spring on it’s way to color our world again!
A loved one recently had a serious medical procedure.
Afterwards, the Doctor came to give us a good report.
This good news lifted all our spirits and this loved one announced their intentions of living to 100 years of age, about another 20 years. To which, the Doctor asked that this loved one if they would put in a good word for him when they went up there to heaven.
As I was thinking of this conversation, it occurred to me, there are so many souls who might wish for a good word to be said about them to the God of creation in heaven. To the God that is known to them deep in their souls, not knowing there is only one way this would happen.
Our precious word, the Bible says,
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His *only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the *only begotten Son of God.” -John 3:16-18 (NASB)
We don’ t need another person to speak a good word for us in heaven, because Jesus will. (1 John 2:1)
Isn’t that great news?
If we do wait for another, other than Jesus to make a favorable requests on our behalf the results can be disastrous and eternal resulting in separation and the wrath from God.
Dear One, please stop this very moment and answer the call for you to come to Jesus once and for all.
It’s not accident you are hearing and reading right now. This is a divine appointment for your good.
God knew you and formed you in your Mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13)
We’re all sinners. (Romans 3:23)
We owe a debt to God and Jesus paid it all in full. (1 Peter 2:24)
If we confess our sins, God promises to forgive us. (1 John 1:9)
We can’t work for the free gift of salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Knowing Jesus leads to eternal life once and for all. (John 14:6)
Beloved, the Light of God is shining on You through the face of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Won’t you look for yourself?
Can’t you see Him?
He is the Beloved. (Matthew 3:17)
He is the Faithful. (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
He is the Almighty Lord God. (Revelation 4:8)
He is the Light. (John 8:12)
He is the Truth. (John 14:6)
He is Love. (Ephesians 5:2)
He is our Peace. (Ephesians 2:14)
He is the friend of sinners. (Matthew 11:19)
The longer I know Jesus, the more His love enlarges my heart to love. I couldn’t save myself, only He could and did.
Do you believe Him?
Thank Him. He is so worthy.
If you have never accepted this free gift of His salvation, please do now and you’ll start to travel a new path with an Intimate Friend.
We are taught to pray a simple prayer, something like…
Dear God, I am a sinner. I have sinned against You and I am truly sorry. I believe Jesus is Your Son and I accept Him as my Savior right now. Please forgive me and make me completely Your child. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Now, you might be wondering what to do. I suggest you find a good solid bible teaching church. One that teaches and believes the Bible is the inspired word of God and all of it is true. If you need help finding one, feel free to contact us and we will see if we can help you.
May the Lord bless and keep you.

I am so thankful and blessed to link and blog hop with the following great websites.
For many years I have prayed for loved ones and dear friends to be surrounded by godly friends, co-workers, and acquaintences. I prayed for godly people to become their spouses, for those who were not married. I prayed for their children and their unborn children.
I have been praying that there would be radically different believers, who’s life’s and witnesses would extend faith, hope, and love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) I prayed that they would look and be so different than most people ever see or have known.
The dear Lord has been so gracious and answered this prayer in the life of one person that I know of, although, there may be many others. There are two believers whom I’ve heard of in the life of someone I have been praying for over many years. I may never meet these believers who have been so true to the spirit of love (Galatians 15:22) through our Lord Jesus Christ, but this is what I would say if I could write or talk to each of them.
Dear Beloved Believer in our Lord Jesus Christ,
It is my pleasure to know you and hear of you for years now. You’re graciousness, your love, and your faith have been seen and have been changing others to see the Jesus you know and proclaim. Praise God.
Your sacrifices of time and your real-life ministry of meeting every need you are able to meet are so appreciated. I love hearing how you are so full of care, concern, and faithfulness in every area of your life.
Thank you. Thank you, dear friend. If you never hear how much you have mattered to the kingdom, I pray the Lord encourages you enough.
May He enlarge your sphere of influence.
May He answer your prayers.
May He strengthen you.
May He meet all your needs.
May He fill you with all wisdom.
When you become weary…
May He give you rest and peace.
May He surround you with faithful Christians who will lift you up.
May He remind you, He is God and in control.
When you become disillusioned…
May He remind you, you were lost once.
May He show you what He loves about others.
May He listen and soothe your hurts.
When you grow old…
May He give you more strength.
May He teach you how to teach others to love.
May He comfort you and show you the home you are waiting to see.
God bless you, my precious friend. Thank you again for your love for others. If we never see each other here this side of glory, we will see each other there in our new eternal homes. Until then, I am praying for you too.
The experience of sharing Jesus, His word, and lunch at church with my beloved family.
The experiences of sharing deep and meaningful things with my friends.
The experience of having the opportunity to share in the ministries of the church.
Knowing the difference in religion and a relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Seeing faith expand year after year and inspite of failings after failings.
Realizing a failure is only when we stop, not when we get up and try to put our eyes on the Lord and stand in obeying Him again.
The heart prayers of those in love with our Lord.
Prayers of creating a larger heart of love for others.
The music of nature singing to my soul.
Seeing the possibilities just like a ray of sunshine through dark clouds.
Joy singing deep in my spirit for the God of all Creation.
Life can seem to be so lonely and empty, like the paths in the pictures above from Pinterest. They are beautiful, but they seem as isolating as fog which rolls in and engulfs every thing in it’s path. My prayer for each of you is the same as I have been praying for years for my loved ones and friends, that you may be surrounded by godly friends, co-workers, and acquaintences. I prayed for godly people to become your spouses for those of you who are not married. I prayed for your children and your unborn children. Most of all I pray your heart will be enlarged with the love of Jesus so that it may flow out to others. May you be the godly person others need to know.

Last week, I received this email. I think it reflects the heart of so many. There are people walking around in despair, not just famous ones, like Whitney Houston, but every day people wishing someone would see them. I think that’s why this email touched my heart. It breaks my heart.
“Please pray for me as I am struggling with loneliness. I am a widow and still trying to be content where I am right now. Difficult to explain and when you look at my life from the outside looking in it doesn’t make sense. I know Jesus loves me ….want to love myself like HE loves me.”
No one has escaped loneliness at some time in their lives, even Christians. In Sunday School yesterday, a very bright young woman began talking about her peer group being so isolated and longing for the human touch of love.
The day before at a very special Valentine Tea Party I attended, there was talk of being alone in marriages, in singleness, in our elder years and in our childbearing years. Loneliness is not new. We are created longing for love, for relationships, for intimacy with close dear family and friends and when we don’t have it, we feel even more acutely aware of our a lonely desperation.
We don’t think most people should be lonely ever. We have a Valentines Day set aside for love, and sayings like, Love is in the air, as if you could catch it like you might catch a flu. It’s an illusion to think there is not a lot of loneliness standing, sitting, or walking pass us.
One of my dear friends says her unmarried children call Valentines Day, Single Awareness Day. Just about every holiday can leave a person feeling so lost and lonely.
Mother’s Day is so painful for a woman trying unsecessfully trying to have a child or if she has lost one. For Mother’s who have children and are alienated from their child or miles away from their children, the pain is just as hard. All of these women could be feeling deeply alone. We just may not notice their pain.
In the picture above and the one below, you will see beautiful faces with years of experience, wisdom, mercy, grace, and love. Many of these precious souls have lost their husbands. Each one deals with their loss in many different ways. What brings them together? It’s their love for our Lord Jesus Christ, for each other, and all other people. Can’t you see it in both pictures?
Whenever I read or hear of someone suffering and struggling with anything that we all deal with in our life’s. I am touched and realize there is only one thing to do and that is to pray first.
I realize there have been times, when we’ve all wanted to love ourselves like we hope God really loves us and found it impossible. Haven’t we?
Perhaps, we haven’t truly believed His word yet?
Or we have unconfessed sins?
Or maybe we believe we deserve His punishments?
We are our harshest judge. He is not!
God is love.(1 John 4:8)
He loved us so much that He sent His only Son. (John 3:16)
God sent Jesus to save the world. (John 3:17)
There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. (Romans 8:1)
Confess with our mouths Jesus is Lord, believe in our hearts God raised Him from the dead and we shall be saved. (Romans 10:8-10)
All the promises of God are yes. (2 Corinthians 1:20)
There are so many promises we can believe and know, today you may need one of the ones above and in another time, yo may need a different one. I have found having a life verse is a good anchor. Do you have a life verse(s)? Mine is Proverbs 3:5-7.
Beloved, we can count on Him, whether we are lonely, afraid, angry, bitter, or faithless creatures. He is not faithless. He promises if we seek Him first and above all things, we will find Him. We will find rest for our souls. (Matthew 11:28-30)
The human touch of love is comforting, but it cannot last and it is not dependable. The touch of God’s love is everlasting. From the moment of salvation to eternity we are loved and lavished upon beyond measure. Won’t you see for yourself? Won’t you believe? Won’t you trust Him? Won’t you love my Jesus, my Lord, my Savior?
Knowing God loves us and thankfully doesn’t love like we do. He never changes His mind. Praise God! He is our Father, our Daddy, our Abba.
Jesus cares for us and every detail of our life. He cares and is waiting to talk with us. He’s never too busy to listen.
We have the mind of God telling us what He thinks, what matters to Him, what is holy and what is evil. It’s all in the Holy Bible.
He was the Lamb, He is the Lion, our Lord and someday soon, everyone will see Him as He really is and not as they think.
The Holy Spirit of God helps us, leads us, teaches us, convicts us, and encourages us.
A very intimate Valentine Tea Party. The day was emotional and so beautiful. Thank you, Ladies.
A young woman on the cusp of womanhood, sharing her heart.
An heart willing to reach out for someone to help.
God’s gift to the whole world. Jesus. We didn’t deserve this perfect gift of Life.
Faith that is growing and constantly tested, even when it is painful
Hope and love which opens doors to the beauty all around us.
Please touch the dear soul next to you. Reach out. Love. You never know when someone next to you may really need to know the hope and beauty of His love. They may need to know Jesus loves them. Won’t you tell them? If you don’t know how, send them this post, maybe you can talk with them after they read it?
We’d be honor if you’d pray for the prayer requests we have listed in the tab at the top.

I love Valentines. I love hearts, pinks, reds, flowers, candies, and the lovely sentiment of the Holiday. Don’t you?
Love in any form is appealing to me. It is the universal language of hope.
I wanted to do something special for Valentines, so I made these Puffy Paper Hearts to use on cards and whatever else I wanted. They are made out of brown lunch sacks and stencils. So much fun to create. I found the idea from the Stuff Paper Hearts on below. Maybe you will find something that you can make all yours too. I’d sure love the strawberries for Valentines, wouldn’t you?
As everyone knows by now, I love Pinterest for gaining ideas all over the Internet. For Valentines I have pinned these great ideas on my virtual bulletin boards, many have DiY’s, templates, patterns, recipes, directions with them, others I use for inspiration, and some are just plain old cute. Like, look at the two kittens below, aren’t they the cutest pair with a heart between them? Click on any picture to see more or go to the website which is sharing these ideas. Please tell them I sent you.
Hope you found some great and interesting ideas to add to your Valentines Day. I have decided that my anthem this Valentines is …
Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13: 4-8a)
I have been thinking of these words for the last several weeks and then the other day, I saw a news clip about a powerful song called, “Love is Louder”, written by Cameron Ernst. It’s really part of a movement that responds to Teen Suicide, but this song could be shared with anyone who has ever felt lost, mistreated, misunderstood, etc…
Love never fails.
Cameron Ernst is traveling around to schools to share this message and he asks the students to fill in the blank. It’s time for healing. Maybe we should all fill in the blank to this question…
Love is louder than _______________?
Everyday, I thank the Lord for His love. I thank God, even when I don’t understand. Love never fails.
Today, I am praising Him for His overflowing love and praying that you know the same love I do.
Love never fails. (John 3:16)
Please pray alongside with us for those who need our prayers. Remember, Love never fails.

It would seem, at a certain point in a Christians life, there would be a shift in our lives, and it would look something like the kind of retirement most people were promised. Except our lives would feel more safe, secure, and as comfortable as sitting in a back porch rocking chair with a beloved friend.
Most of want to think there will be a time reflecting and connecting with those we care about in gentle breezes and warm weather, if only for a minute. We want to be fair weather people in some areas of our lives after years of living life. Life isn’t easy for anyone this side of glory, haven’t you noticed? Most of us aren’t complaining, we were just expected something else.
Sometimes there are precious moments when we feel all is well, they seem to last for such short seasons and never long enough.
It’s a time we can feel relaxed and breathe, but just as quickly these reflective moments can become overcast by fast moving clouds and the gentle breezes are replaced by strong northern winds and threatening chaotic storms.
From cradle to graveside, there are continual trials, unforeseen circumstances, and situations that can leave us feeling like we are rocking in a hurricane.
Thank God, we’re not alone. A dear friend told me recently to look at Abraham’s life and all his trials and experiences as an example of finding that life is never settled peacefully in the here and now. Yes, I see it and we could keep going and look at Joseph’s, David’s, Paul’s, and our precious Jesus’ life too, as well, as practically everyone else mentioned in the Bible. Each one has and all of us will experience our share of continual and sometimes deeply painful trials.
Several years ago, I was in a bible study called, “A Worthy Walk”, on Colossions 1:9-14, and we were asked,
“In the middle of trying situations-
What does my reaction reveal about my walk with God?
How can I allow God to use this circumstance or person to make me more like Christ?”
It makes you think, doesn’t it? What is my reaction and how can I become more like Jesus? Let’s consider the following verses.
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:17(NASB)
“If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is seated at the the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:1,2 (NASB)
Lord, may I keep seeking the things above and in whatever I do, and may I give continual thanks through my Lord Jesus to God my Father.
I loved these signs and all the pictures I found on Pinterest today. Don’t forget, you have to be invited to join Pinterest and if you haven’t yet, consider this your invitation and click on the Pinterest button.
We don’t get to live on Easy Street, at least not this side of glory, but we can live on Hope Street. There is only one place for true hope and that is in our Lord, Jesus. The Holy Spirit of God leads us in whatever path that is best for us to walk in Him, so we can enjoy those so few precious moments rocking and being thankful, full of gratitude for soft breezes, a comfortable rocking chair, and intimate talks with those we love. It’s ok to think, all is well. It is for this time and praise God, it will be for all eternity.
